San Bassiano Church
The Parish Church in San Bassiano was built in the 12th Century by some refugees from Lodi who escaped from Barbarossa’s invasion. The Church is entitled to the first bishop of their origin town.
It has a gabled façade made in terracotta with a great and light central rose-window made in the 15th Century. The Romanic structure of the Church is still visible in the apse, almost entirely re-built. Moreover, the Church has an over-head bell-tower.
Inside, in the counter-façade, a great fresco by Bernardino Campi, who is probably the author also of the medallions with the prophets painted on the walls of the central nave.
