The Castello Visconteo in Pandino has been built near the half of the 14th century as a hunting lodge of the Milan Rulers Bernabò Visconti and Regina della Scala.
It has a square plan with four defensive towers that close a large courtyard overlooked by airy porticos on the ground floor, while on the upper one stand the loggias embellished with polychrome decorations. Other particularly important artistic pieces are the original wall paintings that adorn the facades towards the courtyard and the back walls of the porticoes and loggias: after the recent restoration works it is possible to appreciate the originality and the quality of this particular decorative context.
Another place worth a visit is the town Cascine Gandini also called Gradella, a kilometre away from Pandino: a complex of houses and farms, with porticos and lodges decorating the whole prospect, rightfully known as one of the most beautiful towns in Italy.
