Music in the Wind
First musical-cycling route in Italy
Music in the Wind connects the territory included between Adda and Serio, in the provinces of Bergamo, Lodi, Cremona and Milan.
The analysis has identified some old bike-lanes in some protected natural areas, like the Serio Park and the South Adda Park. On their basis it is possible to delve into a specific interesting theme, that is ‘Music’.
Bergamo, Crema, Lodi and Cremona, are very interesting architectonic centers where were born important academies and protagonists (composers, singers, musicians) of the Italian musical culture. Moreover Cremona is the most famous violin-making centre in the world.
A bike-lane is the best way to connect, in a single “melody”, all these towns, isn’t it? Lombardy has nowadays several bike-lanes and protected cycling routes, but only few of them have a real precise cultural interest, a connection with the territory.
Music in the Wind aims at enhancing some cycling routes along the rivers Serio and Adda, from the Orobie mountains to the river Po through events, points of interest and attractions about the music (in particular classical music). A cycling-musical route, the first one in Italy.
Along this route it is possible to visit the birth-houses of some composers, the theaters where they presented their works, the workshops where the instruments are made. Every part of the route will be combined with a ‘playlist’ that you can download from the website of Music in the Wind and that after you can enjoy when you are riding your bike in the protected areas, far away from the traffic. Moreover, in some villages you stop and listen to some sound boxes, try some instruments, listen to some sound tracks etc.
