Exhibition at the Natural History Museum to discover the animals of our territory
In compliance with the current regulations, the Town’s Museums will be closed until further notice.
We are deeply committed to safeguard the future of Cremona and of its community which has always been interested in Art and Culture. We will work in these weeks to re-plan our ideas and projects: we hope to welcome you back soon in our museums.
In the meantime, together with the Natural History Museum, we can discover the animals of our territory, also those which are less popular.
Today for example we can speak about the SALTIMPALO.
The male bird has a black head and throat with a white collar and orange lower parts. The female bird is characterized by its red-brown plumage, with a black head and back. These birds eat the insects that they catch when they are flying or when they are on the floor. They also eat some earthworms, spiders and small seeds. In its courtship display the male moves quickly its wings and flies around. We can find it in the open countryside or next to the woods. It lives in Europe, North Africa and Asia. In Italy it is sedentary and nesting, regular migratory.
