Monastero del Corpus Domini
The monastery of Corpus Domini was built starting in 1455 by the will of Bianca Maria Visconti, Duchess of Cremona. In 1497 architects Guglielmo De Lera and Pietro da Prato give of the original palace donated by the Duchess a monastic form, designing a large cloister. During the 16th century a second cloister and a minor one for the sisters were built. Even the monastery of Corpus Domini suffered the late 18th century suppression; in 1792 it became a military barracks and remained so throughout the 20th century, named “Caserma Sagramoso”.
